Nicole by OPI- Southern Charm Review

Hello all!

I trust you've all had a good weekend and have enjoyed your time off work and school. Because it's Monday tomorrow (Sorry for the reminder), I thought I'd show you guys one of my neural "work appropriate" (ew) polishes! Check it out below!

I have Nicole by OPI's "Southern Charm" polish for you all today. Unfortunately for you (lucky for me because I love love love this line) it's another polish from the spring Carrie Underwood collection. Southern Charm is a nude creme polish, which to me leans towards the brown side of nude. I find this polish sort of underwhelming because it's a neutral and I'm not a big fan of neutrals.

Bottle shot. This polish is not something that excites me an awful lot.

Southern Charm has a relatively good formula, and application is pretty easy. I did have some issues with streaking on the first coat, but the second coat evened it out, so that was good. It doesn't have a bad drying time and I've found that this polish dries super glossy. I love glossy cremes so I'm very happy with the finish of this polish. It's not super opaque, so I had to use three coats to get good coverage, which is slightly unfortunate, but I'm not too bothered by a three coater. A disadvantage for me is the peachy undertones in this polish. I am not a fan of this. It does not work well with my skin tone. I think it would work much better on someone with a darker skin tone than me.

Sunlight shot. You can really see how neutral this polish is on me in this shot.

Natural light shot.

I found this polish to be better than expected, but not super amazing. It's a neutral creme. Nothing too exciting about that. Southern Charm does look quite natural, so if you aren't supposed to be wearing nail polish (like me) or you can only wear work appropriate polish, I'd recommend this to you, but I still don't think I'd rush out to buy this colour, honestly. But if you're in need of a neutral creme, this could be perfect for you.
