Hey guys!
HAPPY NOVEMBER! It's almost summer and Christmas! And almost 2016. Yikes. Where has this year gone?
Today, I have a little interesting partial collection for you. This one is the 50 Shades of Grey collection which OPI did in January this year. It was a small six piece collection and I picked up two of them. Five of the six were different shades of grey/silver, and there was one red. I hadn't really seen OPI release any grey polishes, so it was cool to see them do something a little different.
First up, I have Embrace the Gray, for you. Ok, to start with, the name. It bothers me. The collection is the '50 Shades of Grey' (Grey with an 'e') collection, and then one of the polishes uses the Americanised spelling with Gray (with an 'a'). Like have some consistency, OPI. Anyways, Embrace the Gray is a blue toned grey polish. The first coat was pretty sheer and the formula felt quite thin and watery. It took me three coats to get what you see in my swatches. It did dry pretty shiny though, which was nice. I actually wore this one as a full manicure a little while ago, and it kept randomly pulling like a khaki green. It was weird. Still a pretty polish though. Check out the swatches below:
The other polish I have for you is called Shine For Me. This is a cool silver and blue microglitter polish. I originally wasn't going to get this polish, but after I saw it in person, I couldn't not take it home with me. The actual formula of the polish isn't bad. It's pretty sheer, but it wasn't too base heavy. It was pretty easy to work with and I didn't have to push the glitter around to get good coverage. It did take four coats to get what you see in my swatches, but polishes like this do tend to take a few more coats. This, I swatched alone, but I am keen to try it over another colour, so I'll keep you posted if I do end up doing that at some point. Check out the swatches below:
I actually haven't noticed any of these polishes in stores for quite a few months, so it must have been really limited edition. They should still be readily available online though. Have you picked up any of the polishes from this collection yet?
