OPI- Simmer & Shimmer Review

Hey guys!

Hope you're all doing well and having a nice week. I'm luckily on uni holidays so I've been working a bit more and doing a lot of relaxing which was much needed.

Today I have another relatively hard to find OPI polish for you. It is called "Simmer & Shimmer" and if my memory serves me correctly, this was released in 2011 as a part of the Burlesque holiday collection. Simmer & Shimmer is one of the six glitter polishes of the collection. It is a mainly blue based glitter with different colours such as orange and silver suspended in a clear base.

The formula for Simmer & Shimmer was much better than I expected. It wasn't goopy and it wasn't thin, both of which I have had bad experiences with glitter polishes. You get really good coverage from Simmer & Shimmer and it is completely opaque on the nail in just three coats. You could possible choose to layer this over another polish if you wanted to, but the glitter is relatively dense and I prefer to wear it on it's own. Simmer & Shimmer was super easy to apply and didn't take too long to dry.

I think my absolute favourite thing about Simmer & Shimmer is the gorgeous sparkle. In the sun, it's just WOAH. I was expecting it to be pretty sparkly because of how packed with glitter it is, but I most definitely did not expect what I got. If I drove, I think I wouldn't be able to wear this polish while driving because I'd just end up staring at my nails and crashing into things. Haha. As this polish can be relatively hard to find, if you are lucky enough to get your hands on a bottle, use it wisely. It's gorgeous.
